cannot access msn, hotmail, and other sites. Error 80072ef(g or d) appears. any help. was told it had something to do with my router but I have been using same wireless router for about 7 months. computer suddenly would not open some sites.

I've been having the same problem since Tuesday evening, 4/22/08. I called Qwest MSN tech support this morning and finally (after talking to two different people and being on hold a lot) was told that some of the MSN mail servers are undergoing maintenance. They told me the service would be back up in two hours; it's now been 5 1/2 hours. I guess the only thing to do is wait it out. :(
Edited to add: Mine just came back, at about 6:20 p.m. Pacific Time. Hope yours comes back too!

Why won't my hotmail messages delete?
Is there something that I am missing? I have msn hotmail and when I delete a message it leaves the inbox, goes to the trash, then roughly several minutes later it goes back into the inbox. Is there a setting I am missing or does this involve junk, safe, or address book mailings?

I can't paste images directly into my Windows Live hotmail messages?
I want the images to appear in the body of my message, not just as an attachment. On the old hotmail I had to turn on rich-text to paste images, but there is no option for this on windows live hotmail.. CTL-C and CTL-V doesn't work either.. is there a setting I am missing? Any ideas? Help please any hotmail gurus :-)

For windows live hotmail, you do not need to turn on the rich text editor as the default had already set to it. To copy a image, you may just highlight on the image, click on ctrl+c and then go back to the windows live hotmail message, click on ctrl+v. You should be able to insert the image to the text area now.

No you can use any computer with internet access, As it is an internet basses email system.
You can sign up to a hotmail account using a pc in one part of the world (australia), and sign into your account and read emails etc in the opposite side of the world (europe).

The new yahoo beta is horrible, especially all of the clicking sounds it makes (at least mine does). I think where you sign in/out there is a small option to 'switch back'.

You cant really stop it. The best thing you can do is use a junk address to sign up for sites or fill out forms on websites you dont trust. Alot of sites will sell your email addresses to spammers. You dont write your phone number all over cause you know people would call you, treat your email address with the same attitude and you will do fine.

This system is designed to locate and pick up certain emails. This could be based on:

It something is picked up it is scanned again - delayed.
If the system finds an email that breaks the pre recorder set messure the email can then be lawfully read by a human in confidnetiality to ensure the email is safe.

Just today, I cannot get into hotmail. I type in www.hotmail.co.uk, click enter (as usual), and then it loads for a couple of minutes then finally says 'internet explorer cannot display the webpage'. This is happening with bebo and facebook as well.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this, please? Thank you!

This is gonna be difficult to do, because the web mail was programmed to do just that. If you don't want to read the next message i advise that you just clikc the (Back button) on your browser then select the message you just read and delete it. But why do you wanna do that?

i contacted yahoo about that when i changed email addresses. they said the only way to do it was to forward each email that i wanted to keep to my new email address. then send an email through my yahoo account to all of my contacts notifying them of my new email address and asking them to send a blank email or a simple hello to my new one. then just save each to my list of saved contacts. of course, if you wanted a quick way you could just open up 2 diff url's (yahoo and hotmail) and then just copy/paste your contacts from your old email to your new.

The down side is that you can not send outgoing without signing in to Gmail or Hotmail.

There is no way to know if an email was viewed in any mail system.
Some email programs have the option to request a receipt but the receiver must reply to the request. This requires that both the sending and receiving programs can both handle receipts. Yahoo online does not have that feature.

No Y! doesn't carry the "mail received ticket" for e-mails
Some email programs have the option to request a receipt but the receiver must reply to the request. This requires that both the sending and receiving programs can both handle receipts. Yahoo online does not have that feature.
Is there a way for me to figure out if someone from Hotmail had viewed the e-mail I sent from Yahoo?

You can download only if have the paid account. Outlook can download only pop3 mails and pop3 is supported in these mail's paid versions only.
If you have the paid version then configuring hotmail is not a problem because settings for hotmail are inbuilt with outlook. But for yahoo you have to configure the pop3 and smtp address in outlook like:

smtp.mail.yahoo.com

i don't believe there is a way after you have deleted,i know there is a way after people have deleted photos by accident,but you have to buy the software to be able to do it,because alot of people believe that once they have deleted that's it,but actually nothing at all is gone its just hidden,in your registry,google about that and retrieval,and you should be able to find what your looking for.

It's a security measure, you can click the show pictures link to see them, however I'd only recommend doing that from trusted sources.

What happens is the email is scanned by a pc system when it is sent - no human intervention.
This system is designed to locate and pick up certain emails. This could be based on:
Location
Owner of account
Content of email i.e racist
If your emails passes it is sent.
It something is picked up it is scanned again - delayed.
If the system finds an email that breaks the pre recorder set messure the email can then be lawfully read by a human in confidnetiality to ensure the email is safe.
So I hope this helps:
99.9 % of emails are not read.

Thunderbird with hotmail?
I just got thunderbird to help me stay organized with my email (hotmail) and I finally figured out how to read messages and send them with it. The problem is that I cant seem to add the contacts that I had in that email to thunderbirds' address book. I also cant access some folders that I made on my email account with seperate folder with important emails already in there. Any suggestions on how I can access this information on thunderbird?

No idea about the folders, but the contacts you can export manually from Hotmail and then import them into Thunderbird. Go to your contacts and select export. This will give you a CSV file. From there, you can follow the instructions below to import the contacts from the CSV file into Thunderbird.

This can be done remotely if you know the whole set of credentials for the computer in question e.g. IP address and password. This keylogger can be set to send in your e-mail a list of all passwords used in the system. If you cannot access the system remotely, you have to install the software at site.

Does anybody like MSN Messenger and Hotmail Live?
I find MSN Messenger and Hotmail Live annoyingly user unfriendly but they keep advertising and trying to promote it to you more. I have tried the Hotmail Live and switched back to the older version which I like very much and will never change back to live.What are your experiences?

i think its horrid , but i changed it on the options and gone back to the basic way of how it looks ,, so much better to read now .

Reply:I cant see much difference really! But then, i just use it to chat with friends now and then! And its nice that you can now leave off line messages! But that's about it really! Its OK!
Reply:I hate the mail life. It is so annoying. First it takes half a minute to load and then I have to click on three things just to get to a mail and then the last thign that reeealllyy makes me mad is that it shows mail in a tiny little screen.
I switchec back tot he basic version.
But the messenger live is the best. I love it.

Reply:Its annoying perhaps because its still under beta test. The only problem with mine is that even though i have 1GB RAM and really fast PC, as soon as i login to windows live messenger, it takes forever and freezes my computer for a little while.
Sometimes i get error messages on windows live mail, which i can't report because there was a problem also in reporting. Hopefully they'll fix it in a couple of years time.
Bascially all i can say is that i have bad experience with all microsoft products, and when i send them email, they just keep asking me to send email to different departments and it goes on and on but no help from them.

It doesn't matter if they have a Hotmail account or if they are in the UK. Just type their email address in the To field. You can send email to anywhere in the world, regardless of the address, as long as you have an internet connection.

Hotmail/MSN wierd problem I can't sign in Whats up?
So basiclly here's the thing, I have 2 hotmail accounts whats funny is when I try to sign on to one of them I get this msn error code 810000314
but when I sign on to my other account it works :S whats going on

It's not McAfee because on my computer my friend's account is signing on fine but mines isn't.
I've no idea why :(
