any ideas why this is happening? its happening on all 3 of our computers at home.

i reckon it's either your internet conection or its settings. however if other websites are opening fine it would not be your connection but your settings that has disabled the cookies or something. sometimes it's the msn server which temporary plays up. try uninstalling and intalling the msn again. or try webmessenger.msn.com (no www in front of this url). also try contacting the msn lot as they do get back to you quite quickly.

This happend when your Internet Explorer is not properly configured.... i bet you are using another browser like Opera or Mozilla.
If you can get IE to open up www.msn.com, then msn messenger automatically starts working.
Go to IE, click on tools and Internet options and connections, lan settings and make sure your usual internet connection in showing up there.

You can download only if have the paid account. Outlook can download only pop3 mails and pop3 is supported in these mail's paid versions only.
If you have the paid version then configuring hotmail is not a problem because settings for hotmail are inbuilt with outlook. But for yahoo you have to configure the pop3 and smtp address in outlook like:

Reply:Well there are two kind of services these two provide,Free mail and Premium (paid) services,
Free Service is only Web-Mail, but premium provides you option to download mail in your Outlook or any other client,
basic difference is Free Service is HTTP based, where you have to use browser and go through Adds on web-page .....
but Premium Service comes with POP, ( POST office protocol),
Outlook and other such software are basically POP clients, which can download Mails using POP from your mail server(which is yahoo or hotmail here).
Try Gmail, they provide free POP forwarding ,

Can I download mails from hotmail, yahoo etc. to Outlook?
You can download only if have the paid account. Outlook can download only pop3 mails and pop3 is supported in these mail's paid versions only.
If you have the paid version then configuring hotmail is not a problem because settings for hotmail are inbuilt with outlook. But for yahoo you have to configure the pop3 and smtp address in outlook like:
pop.mail.yahoo.com
smtp.mail.yahoo.com

i don't believe there is a way after you have deleted,i know there is a way after people have deleted photos by accident,but you have to buy the software to be able to do it,because alot of people believe that once they have deleted that's it,but actually nothing at all is gone its just hidden,in your registry,google about that and retrieval,and you should be able to find what your looking for.

It's a security measure, you can click the show pictures link to see them, however I'd only recommend doing that from trusted sources.

Can free email providers (like Gmail, yahoo, dango, hotmail etc.) have the right to/do they look at my emails?

I thought they couldn't just look at my stuff, since it may contain confidential information, but someone told me different yesterday.
Just wondering what is the truth???

The only reason i am asking is because i am worried that passwords i have for internet website accounts (that get sent through email) will be stolen. I'm just worried about that??
I asked this a second time just in case people did not see my first one with the modifications

The service provide has the right to read any email that is sent. The key words is right. In actual truth they don't.
What happens is the email is scanned by a pc system when it is sent - no human intervention.
This system is designed to locate and pick up certain emails. This could be based on:
Location
Owner of account
Content of email i.e racist
If your emails passes it is sent.
It something is picked up it is scanned again - delayed.
If the system finds an email that breaks the pre recorder set messure the email can then be lawfully read by a human in confidnetiality to ensure the email is safe.
So I hope this helps:
99.9 % of emails are not read.

It's not worth their time or business.

Thunderbird with hotmail?
I just got thunderbird to help me stay organized with my email (hotmail) and I finally figured out how to read messages and send them with it. The problem is that I cant seem to add the contacts that I had in that email to thunderbirds' address book. I also cant access some folders that I made on my email account with seperate folder with important emails already in there. Any suggestions on how I can access this information on thunderbird?

No idea about the folders, but the contacts you can export manually from Hotmail and then import them into Thunderbird. Go to your contacts and select export. This will give you a CSV file. From there, you can follow the instructions below to import the contacts from the CSV file into Thunderbird.

No idea about the folders, but the contacts you can export manually from Hotmail and then import them into Thunderbird. Go to your contacts and select export. This will give you a CSV file. From there, you can follow the instructions below to import the contacts from the CSV file into Thunderbird.

An email web site can only be made a default for email if it is listed in the email defaults in internet options. If it is not listed then some type of add on is required. For example Yahoo Messenger will allow Yahoo Mail to be a default.

Reply:sign in to your email, then on the right side under your email address there will be a piece of paper and a pencil, click on that, then under the third set of bold letters choose the second option(it is under the set that starts with an N and the option also starts with an N) make sure you choose the second option not the first, then select English as the language, scroll down and click the box on the right to safe.

i contacted yahoo about that when i changed email addresses. they said the only way to do it was to forward each email that i wanted to keep to my new email address. then send an email through my yahoo account to all of my contacts notifying them of my new email address and asking them to send a blank email or a simple hello to my new one. then just save each to my list of saved contacts. of course, if you wanted a quick way you could just open up 2 diff url's (yahoo and hotmail) and then just copy/paste your contacts from your old email to your new.

You have to be a bit more specific on why you can't log in. Windows Live Mail(Which was hotmail) should work with your hotmail.com account. Have you been using it on a daily basis? When did it occurr? Be more specific it might just be the cookies for the Windows Live Mail is not being accepted.

This is the problem: Say I have 25 messages that I want to delete. I'll start to go down the list, checking the ones I want to delete. If you let it install, then you can switch all options as you desire. If you're concerned about spyware, ads, etc.. Run a system scan when your completely set up.

This applies to almost all mail (including signing in, composing, receiving, sending, attachments, photos etc.) and search problems for the last two weeks.
So, It appears we have to un-install these two things or try to work around them

Make sure your screen resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels. Right click on your desktop, click Properties, click the "Settings" tab, left click and hold on the screen resolution bar and drag it all the way to the right, click Apply and click OK.

Open it and click on Tools - Accounts - Mail - Add put in your details with your hotmail address and leave the mail servers blank. if you get alot of mail this may be a disadvantage as you will have to wait for all the emails to download. Its a personal choice.

Why can't I send and receive emails from Yahoo to Hotmail addresses and vice versa - no failed delivery alert
When sending from Hotmail to Yahoo the following message is received:

I've got the same problem with either delayed notifications and/or failed notifications whenever I email from Hotmail to Yahoo accounts - majorly annoying!!! I'm going to ask the Hotmail helpdesk as I previously sent another query to the Yahoo helpdesk and never heard back so it seems either they don't have a very good helpdesk system or are seriously short staffed and have a huge backlog - either way I wouldn't hold your breath for an answer from them!
Come on Yahoo - what's going on!!???
Update: I've emailed Hotmail about it so I'll let you know when/if I hear back. I've used their helpdesk service before and they got back to me reasonably quickly so fingers crossed...

As a work around I鈥檝e been using my yahoo a/c to send emails to yahoo %26amp; my hotmail a/c to send emails to hotmail, a pain but it works. Report Abuse

An email web site can only be made a default for email if it is listed in the email defaults in internet options. If it is not listed then some type of add on is required. For example Yahoo Messenger will allow Yahoo Mail to be a default.
Hotmail can be used in Outlook and Outlook Express by selecting HTTP account type and then you can make Outlook or Outlook Express the default. I do not think you can make the Hotmail website the default.

Um, I believe that if you have a yahoo id, you most likely have yourname@yahoo.com . Click the mail button on any Yahoo! page. If you want to use your hotmail--then use that. But remember, hotmail is run by lesser demons with a marked propensity for procrastination and sloth.
