Why can't I send and receive emails from Yahoo to Hotmail addresses and vice versa - no failed delivery alert

When sending from Hotmail to Yahoo the following message is received:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server.

Why can't I send and receive emails from Yahoo to Hotmail addresses and vice versa - no failed delivery alert
I've got the same problem with either delayed notifications and/or failed notifications whenever I email from Hotmail to Yahoo accounts - majorly annoying!!! I'm going to ask the Hotmail helpdesk as I previously sent another query to the Yahoo helpdesk and never heard back so it seems either they don't have a very good helpdesk system or are seriously short staffed and have a huge backlog - either way I wouldn't hold your breath for an answer from them!

Come on Yahoo - what's going on!!???

Update: I've emailed Hotmail about it so I'll let you know when/if I hear back. I've used their helpdesk service before and they got back to me reasonably quickly so fingers crossed...
Reply:Hotmail replied stating they鈥檙e aware of it %26amp; are working on it in conjunction with Yahoo 鈥? not very satisfying but at least we know they're working on it I guess. As a work around I鈥檝e been using my yahoo a/c to send emails to yahoo %26amp; my hotmail a/c to send emails to hotmail, a pain but it works. Report Abuse

Reply:OK, so this is 2 months ago. i still have this problem. ANy words of advise? Report Abuse

Reply:Yes, this has been going on for about 4 weeks now. Nobody at Yahoo or Hotmail seems to be interested in fixing it - it is impossible to contact a real human being at either organisation. Yahoo customer care, where are you?
Reply:I have had exactly the same problem also, for about two weeks running. It is a pain in the **** %26amp; annoying having to delete all the bounce backs plus not knowing if important email has reached its destination. I would also like to know the cure?

Yahoo or Hotmail "please hurry up %26amp; sort this out" or even an explination would be nice.
