What are the incoming and

outgoing mail servers for a

hotmail pop account?
correct
Reply:You can obtain the CORRECT info from each mail server, by logging into your acount and going to account help, Add pop account. It will demonstrate the exact settings you are inquiring about...

POP Server Name The server name of the POP account that you want MSN Hotmail to get messages from. The server name usually contains the word mail or POP, followed by a period, and then the name of your Internet service provider (ISP) or your company's POP e-mail server (for example, pop.mail.example.com). Your ISP or company system administrator should have this information. If you're using a non-English version of Hotmail, you must type the POP server name in standard English text.

POP User Name The sign-in name that you use to access that account.

POP User Password The password that you use to access that account. Make sure that you type your password correctly to log in to the POP server.

Server Timeout The length of time (in seconds) that Hotmail waits for a response from your POP server. If you don't have a fast connection to the Internet, set this value to a longer time (for example, 120 seconds) to give the POP server enough time to respond. Otherwise, you may never receive any e-mail because Hotmail will time out before the server replies.

Port Number The port number for POP e-mail is usually 110.

Leave messages on POP server Select this if you want to keep a copy of all POP messages on the POP server.

Download unread messages only Select this to limit the number of messages that are sent to your Hotmail account (recommended).

New Mail Indicator
Reply:Hotmail is thru (msn.com)
Reply:Hotmail POP is by subscription only. There are no standard POP servers for the free accounts. With that said, if you use outlook or outlook express it will connect automatically and allow you pop access although somewhat unreliably. Just go into the new account setup and choose the option to add an HTTP account.
